Cette voix, dont l’étendue est à l’image du territoire qu’elle explore, est celle de Julia Sarr. Filmé à la fois en France et au Sénégal, dans les friches d’Aubervilliers et les ruelles de Thiès, ce documentaire entend construire un récit au plus près de l’univers musical de cette artiste singulière.

A voice. Which gets involved with other voices in a gospel concert in a Parisian church, which improvises in a jazz club in Dakar then sings in Wolof in a hip-hop recording studio. This voice, the width of which is just like the territory it explores, is Julia Sarr’s. Filmed at the same time in France and in Senegal, in the fallow lands of Aubervilliers and the alleys of Thies, this documentary proposes building a narrative as close as possible to the musical universe of this singular artist.
