Sur les murs d’Irun, d’Hendaye et d’Hondarribia, trois villes du Pays basque, surgissent à la nuit tombée des fresques en mouvement où apparaissent des habitants peuplant ce territoire traversé par une frontière. Incarnant à chaque fois un récit singulier, treize films courts proposent un autre regard sur le portrait filmé, grâce à un travail de composition visuelle et plastique des images dans une filiation avec le cinéma expérimental. À la manière de la mémoire qui recompose un souvenir par fragments, omissions et inventions, le travail de montage opère ici par strates visuelles dans une approche impressionniste du réel qui reste pour autant fidèle au témoignage recueilli.

Une constellation d’images qui dialogue avec le récit apparaît ainsi sous la forme d’un texte sous-titré, croisant tour à tour, en fonction des rencontres et des situations, les trois langues de ce territoire: l’euskera, l’espagnol et le français.

On the walls of Irun, Hendaye and Hondarribia, three towns of the Basque Country, moving frescoes appear at nightfall, featuring the inhabitants of this territory crossed by a border. Each time embodying a singular narrative, thirteen short films offer another look at the filmed portrait, thanks to a work of visual and plastic composition of images in a filiation with experimental cinema. In the manner of memory, which recomposes a souvenir through fragments, omissions and inventions, the editing work here operates through visual strata in an impressionistic approach to reality that remains faithful to the testimony collected.

A constellation of images that dialogues with the story thus appears in the form of a subtitled text, crossing in turn, according to the encounters and situations, the three languages of this territory: Basque, Spanish and French.
